Beyond the Frame

'Beyond the Frame' called for print work that was more than just a framed work. I was lucky to have my work selected for this show at the Gus Fisher Gallery in Auckland for the show that ran from the 4th of July to the 30th of August.

The media has a powerful influence on the way we read and percieve the news by the very nature of presentation.

The work titled ‘Sign of the times —Chaos’ forces the viewer to dig through the froth of news to discover the underlying words of truth; where the visual rhetoric of ‘Sign of the times —Control’ reiterates today words are being superseded with an emphasis on visual communication.

These works experiment with text, image and the manipulation of meaning via composition and context to determine how changing presentation of language can influence communication.
